Aerospace-inspired mechanical watch influenced by the Artemis II mission
Inspiration
Inspired by NASA’s Artemis II mission, APSIS A2 reflects a renewed era of human space exploration and orbital travel. The watch translates aerospace engineering language into a geometric mechanical timepiece through structural detailing, restrained materials, and asymmetrical form.
Form & Geometry
APSIS A2 combines faceted geometry with an integrated bracelet to create a unified aerospace-inspired form. Angular surfaces, structural cut-outs, and asymmetrical detailing give the watch a precise and engineered appearance.
Celestial Reflection
A recessed spherical detail is integrated into the dial to reflect light and create the appearance of a planetary body suspended in space. The domed geometry introduces depth, contrast, and a subtle celestial focal point within the otherwise structured dial layout.
Raised Identity
The elevated APSIS A2 detail introduces an additional layer within the dial, reinforcing the watch’s architectural depth and precision-driven aesthetic. Its soft geometric form contrasts against the structured case geometry to create a clear visual focal point.
Mission Tribute
The dial features the surnames of the Artemis II crew as a subtle tribute to the mission and its role in returning humans to deep space exploration. Positioned beneath the central axis, the detail is intentionally understated to preserve the watch’s minimal and technical aesthetic.
Integrated Bracelet
The integrated titanium bracelet continues the geometric language of the case to create a unified and sculptural form. A butterfly clasp is incorporated into the bracelet structure, while faceted links and a tapered profile reinforce the watch’s aerospace-inspired aesthetic.
CMF
APSIS A2 combines aerospace-grade titanium with sapphire crystal to create a durable and precision-focused timepiece inspired by space engineering. Matte whites, soft greys, and restrained red accents reinforce the watch’s technical aesthetic while contrasting textures enhance its geometric surfaces and structural detailing.
